DST

The general order of updating for DST changes are
1 Apply updates to Windows operating systems on Windows Servers.
2 Apply updates to Windows operating systems on individual workstations.
3 Apply the Exchange Server DST update.
4 Run the Exchange Calendar Update tool against all affected users, servers,
or both OR correct individual e-mail application calendars using the Outlook
Time Zone Data Update tool.
I do not understand that number 4 does not seem to apply to my environment.
ther is no OWA to speak of and from my observations today (March 11 2007) all
my calendar appointments are intact (they have not jumped an hour) as well as
my recuring appointments are intact.
Am I missing something? I am running XP SP2 on my workstations with outlook
2003. My exchange server is enterprise version with SP2 with the exchange
server dst patch.
Do I need to use the update tool?

steps 1, 2, and 3 will cause your appointments to be an hour off, step 4
fixes them, if everything is AOK, then at some point the appointments must
have been moved.

I am finding that this has occurred to a few people in my environment
(calendar appointments off by 1 hour but just for the periods commencing
March 12 thru to April 2 and again from October 28 thru to November 4th.
After these dates, calendar apointments seem to be back on track.
Is this to be expected given the 3 week earlier than normal to "spring
ahead" and the one week to "fall back"?
