Don

forgive me for trying again, but I get this DNS Internet
Explorer when trying to open a specific web page in drive
C:. I am able to connect to that webpage when I boot to
drive E;. Have checked settings on both drives, seems to
be pretty close. Does anyone know why I cannot connect to
this ONE website. The only one that I cannnot
load. www.classmates.com

this is my third try, it is not a matter of life of death,
but I sure would like to know why it is causing me fits.
Don.................. Thanks in advance

Check C:\Windows\Drivers\Etc for a file named Hosts
(Without any extension). If found, open (Notepad) and
see if any entries for www.Classmates.com is listed.
If so, then delete the entire line and save the file.
Normally, Windows XP will not have by default a Hosts
file, but a Hosts.sam (Sample).
Also under your C: (Boot), open a Dos Prompt and type
Ping www.Classmates.com
If successful, the command will return it's IP address and
the packet transfer status for the site.

Thank you so much Mr. R. McCarty. I deleted a lot of the
so called "crappy" sites listed there. Classmates was not
listed, but after deleting the other I tried went to
www.classmates.com........and wow it loaded like it was
supposed too. many thanks to you and may God bless you and
yours..........Don
