DIY network Set-up

Hello

Wondering if anyone knows of a website that gives clear directions -
step-by-step - on how to connect 4 computers into a network.

Trying to help someone who has a network that only sometimes works. He
wants to "clear it out and start again". He wants to use Windows
networking to connect the following:-

1 x Windows 2000 SP4 acting as the server
1 x XP home SP2
1 x XP pro SP2
1 also with Windows 2000 SP4
1 X printer that has a network card in it. Wants all 4 computers to use
that.
He also has cable broadband and uses Internet Explorer & Outlook Express.

Thanks for any pointer to helpful sites.
