display resolution on 19" monitor keeps changing back to 1024x768

I have a user who is setting his screen resolution to 1280x1024 but for some
reason, every time he logs off and logs back in again the resolution goes
back to 1024x768. What could be the cause of this? He has local
administrator privledges
