display password - welcome screen?

I have enabled fast user switching and the welcome screen
from the users menu, but when i return from a screen
saver the we3lcome screen does not appear. Instead it is
the standard password box. The option under the screen
savers tab says "On resume password protect" where it
used to say "On resume display welcome screen." Why did
the option change, and can I get it back?

Kelly,

This is not a solution. It only disables password protection. The ideas
is not to disable password protection but to return to the wecome
screen instead of the conventional login prompt of win 2000.
Furthermore how does one reverse your registry changes.

Thanks ...

So the problem still stands:

The text next to the checkbox in the "Properties > Screen Saver"
tab has changed from ON RESUME, DISPLAY WELCOME SCREEN to ON RESUME,
PASSWORD PROTECT and instead of switching to the welcome screen after
the screen saver is deactivated, I get the conventional w2k login
prompt.

"Use the Welcome Screen" and "Use Fast User Switching" are both
ENABLED.

I want my welcome screen back.
Thanks for any input ...
