Display Monitor too big

I do not remember which progrm I use, I think programme for photo Camera
I had this Window pop-up window telling me that my current display was...X... and that better diaply would be 800 x 600
I answered yes to change display but now, on each internet Explorer Window, the screen display is huge and I cannot read page properly: Page from left to right is too big for my screen
I tried different displays in control program but other display are very very small
I cannot retrieve previous default display...
Can anyone help: This big definition on Internet Pages is annoying.

Control Panel|DISPLAY|SETTINGS
You tried 1024 X 768 ?

Also note the (DPI) size choices, by clicking the ADVANCED button.
