Laptop Screen Resolution and Display Size

EiSYSTEM laptop - intel extreme graphics chip - through display properties it is possible to change the display size to 800 x 600 (required for man games), but it then shrinks the visible area of the screen to this size, with a big black border round the edge. This still occurs with the 'Full Scree (No Border)' box checked, which should stretch the visible area to that of the whole screen. If you use an external CRT monitor, there is no problem.

Any ideas how one can change to 800x600 and then expand to the whole screen?

Check in the BIOS setup for a setting to "expand display" or something along
those lines.
