display day and date in task bar

hi, is there anyway that you can display the day and date
along with time or a combination of them, in the windows
task bar?
i know that if oyu unlock the taskbar and resize it
untill you have like two lines you can display it but is
there any way of doing this whith te task bar locked at 1
line?
any help is appreciated, i am using Windows XP Pro.

You would have to add a 3rd party tool to get that, and there are several. I have used TClockEx for years, and still do in XP although it is not as pretty to use there since it doesn't allow the new style taskbar to display properly. With the right color setting it is not that obvious, though. It also gives a handy popup calendar which I find convenient along with a couple of other features I like.
