diskpart and cf card

Hi all,
I did not find any problems when using diskpart to
partition our cf cards (clean, create partition, set
active, etc.). And in MSDN, I accidentally found the
following note:

*******************************************************
Using Diskpart to Configure a Hard Drive

Note Do not use Diskpart to configure a compact flash
device. Because of the way Windows XP reports disk
geometry on compact flash devices, repartitioning your
compact flash device may render it inoperable. Contact
your compact flash manufacturer for assistance
repartitioning the device.
*******************************************************

I have noticed that if I use diskpart and do not reboot my
system (like using FDISK after creating a new partition),
90% my WXPe does not boot (flashing cursor on the upper
left hand side of the screen). But if I do a reboot after
using diskpart, WXPe boots finely from my CF. Anyone else
have this experience? Is everyone rebooting after
creating their partition on their cf/flash devices?

MS recommends us to ask our CF manufacturer for
assistance. Our manufacuture asks us to contact MS for
assistance. No one seems to want to be responsible for
anything :(

There are compatibility problems with this.

And they are all related to BIOS manufacturer, CF manufacturer and tools
used for partitioning.
One device can boot from CF normally, other can have problems with working
CF, etc.
MS recommends us to ask our CF manufacturer for
assistance. Our manufacuture asks us to contact MS for
assistance. No one seems to want to be responsible for
anything :(

No one is responsible for anything regarding this, there is just too much
incompatibility.

You should try using dos tools like fdisk, format and bootprep. And run them
on target device.
Sadly, at the end finding working solution is up to you. When you find
something that will always work on your device/medium pair stick with it.

Regards,
Slobodan
