DiskManagement not letting me add Mirror (XPP+identical80GBata dri

Objective: Mirrored Drives using two 80gb ATA drives
Problem: DiskManagement & DISKPART not allowing or gives error
Overview:

New comptuer, purchased two identical IDE 80GB seagate drives with system.
WindowsXPpro loaded on Drive0(PrimaryMaster), drive1(SecondaryMaster)
completely blank.

Converted both drives to Dynamic drives.
Disk0 (Dynamic):
- C: (simple),(dynamic),(NTFS),Healthy(System),74.52GB,71.23GB,95%,FT=No,0%
- 7 MB Unallocated

Disk1 (Dynamic): 74.53GB Unallocated

When right-click on the C: partition on drive0, the "Add Mirror..." option
is greyed out. Extend Partition is not greyed, but gives error when tried
slecting ("The selected volume is a system or boot disk or was created on a
bsic disk in an earlier version of Windows and cannot be extended.")

Have fdisk'd both drives & rebuilt the OS on drive0 again - still option
greyed out in Disk Manager.
Have attempted the command-line way as well all but the last step seems to
work fine. Once in DISKPART, go through the steps listed in MMC help & on MS
support site - get the error:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DISKPART> list disk

Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
-------- ---------- ------- ------- --- ---
* Disk 0 Online 75 GB 7560 KB *
Disk 1 Online 75 GB 75 GB *

DISKPART> add disk 1

The command you selected is not available with this version of Windows.

DISKPART
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- This is a freshly rebuilt system from the mfg's XPProSP2 OS disk (mfg:
HP). System has not gotten any patches yet (although I have also tried this
when all the patches were installed - prior to rebuild: got the same error).

Need help on this ASAP!
Need to get the drives to Software mirror. Have done this with many other
systems & this is the only one i've had problems with.
Any suggestions/questions/etc would be VERY appreciated.

Thanks All!

Forget it all - Software RAID1 cannot be done with non-Server operating
systems (Can only be done with: Win2kSvr, Win2kAdvSvr, Win2kDtaCtr).

Quote from another help page found online:
"You can create mirrored volumes only on computers running Windows 2000
Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, or Windows 2000 Datacenter Server. "

Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
