ADD MIRROR Unavailable

Hey all,

Have a W2K Server upgraded from 9GB mirrored Drives to 36GB Drives.
Used Ptedit.exe to change drives to Basic from Dynamic. Then used utility to resize first 36GB Drive partitions to match the new drive sze. Then upgraded disks to Dynamic. Problem is :

1) with 2nd drive of the mirror set, I mirrored first partition (C DRIVE) fine....when I went to mirror the 2nd Partition (E DRIVE), the add mirror option is greyed out (unavailable). Researching this issue states that drive sizes must be same or exceed space on the mirrored drive....in this case it does but still cant mirror....

2) Drive 0 wont boot w/o a boot disk with boot.ini on it ....the identical boot.ini is on the drive but when boot just sits at a flashing cursor top of screen. With the boot disk in boots perfectly..

Thanks in advance for help!!

Ptedit.exe

The symptom of the inability to boot without floppy disk is the clue. The
manual conversion of disk and the partition extension did not properly
create the partition entries. The information does not match the physical
disk geometry. That needs to be corrected before it will boot or before
mirror can be created. There might be a disk utility that can automatically
repair it but I don't know which one.
