Software mirror - boot problem

M

Matt

I am working on a 2000 server that has a software mirror.
The original task was to install larger hard drives. First
I copied data to another server and copied the boot.ini,
ntldr, and ntdetect files to a floppy. I removed the
mirror and tried to ghost the drive. I ran into problem
ghosting the drive because it is dynamic. I added one of
the larger drives to the server and mirrored it to the
old, smaller drive and I copied the boot.ini, ntldr, and
ntdetect from my floppy to the larger drive. I removed the
mirror and tried to boot. When booting from the floppy,
everything works, however when booting from the c:, I
get "u æ u æ" while searching for bootable files. I
checked the boot.ini for the correct disk and it looks
correct. I have now installed the second drive and
mirrored it.

Thanks

Is the partition marked active?
Have you tried fixmbr from Recovery Console?
