Disk Mirroring (RAID Level 1)

Guest

Hello

I have installed a second hard drive into a windows XP Pro machine.

I now have two hard drives which are identical in size.

I have tried to mirror the harddrives through the windows disk management
console and also through the command line using diskpart

In the management console the add mirror is greyed out.
I get a message when using disk part that the operation is not vaild on this
version of operating system.

Is there a way to mirror the two hard drives in windows XP or do I have to
buy third party software to perform the task.

Thank

Mark

XP doesn't support software mirroring. The best option for mirroring is a
dedicated RAID controller.
