I am having real trouble getting Diskeeper 8 Pro's boot time defragger to
work - it says it cannot lock the C: drive (it says probable causes include
other processes using it, it not being mounted properly or it not being
NTFS - which it is). It runs fine on my other partitions - NTFS and FAT32.

CHKDSK will also not run on the C: partition - I schedult a boot-time check
but nothing happens on boot - no messages or anything.

I am using Windows XP Professional SP1a.

Anyone else having troubles like this?

Cheers

Have you by any chance got Zone Alarm 5 on your system ? If so revert back
to version 4.5 and all should be back to normal.
See

for further details on the uninstall and download of 4.5. now also in ZAs
FAQs.
