Disk Defragmenter

After defragging about 10 times with 2 different defragmenting
softwares, the picture is what I'm left with. almost all of the files
are in the first half of the hard drive, while there is one file (or a
cluster of smaller files) that isn't.

I'm wondering if there is a utility out there that will allow me to
move this file closer to the rest of them, or at least be able to know
what file/files it is (so I can delete them if they aren't important).

I'm planning on using the second half of this drive as a Linux
partition for work purposes, and I can't repartition the drive with
this file in the way!

BootitNG will shrink your partition for you, moving the file as it does.
Free trial is available. Changes remain, even after the trial expires.

You appear to be confusing "Defragment" and "Packing" the drive.

To be honest, you don't really want to pack the drive if you plan on
actually using any OS, but, when you want to shrink it to dual boot, one
of the best tools is JKDEFRAG in safe mode - it has a pack option and
you can limit the slack space it creates too.

In your case, rather than shrinking the drive, why not spend a little
and purchase another disk drive, install it, then pick the boot order
from your computers BIOS, leaving this first disk untouched and limiting
the number of problems you will have?
