Disk Cleanup problem

Hi

I hope someone can help me with this problem I am having.

Every time I run Disk Cleanup, it never gets past
the "compress old files" step. The progress meter shows it
quickly get to about 1/3 finished with that step, but
never gets past that. I have run it numerous times, even
letting it run overnight for about 10 hours, and nothing
happens.

I am running XP Home, keep my windows up-to-date, and run
defrag monthly. I have a 140 gig HD.

Anyone have any ideas?

down to Line #48. In the right-hand window, click on
"Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it.
(Note: Disable your antivirus program before running the repair script)

When you run the Disk Cleanup utility, the program may stop responding
(hang) while scanning for compressed files.

CAUSE
This issue occurs when there is an incorrect entry in the registry that is
used by the Disk Cleanup utility to locate compressed files..
