In Windows XP Pro, Version 5.1, accessing Disk Cleanup
(e.g. through Windows Explorer, Local Disk, Properties,
etc.), when the Disk Cleanup window first appears, it
says "Scanning: Compress old files" with the progress
barat 3 ticks. It never (for many hours) moves again.
Looking at the Windows Task Manager, cleanmgr.exe takes
97-98 % of the CPU time (actually, if I cancel Disk
Cleanup from its box, the CPU time indicator doesn't
return). What's happening?
