Disk #2 Can't load ntkrnlmp.exe error code 7

I've done and extensive net search with no luck. I'm trying to clean
install XP pro from floppies (please don't tell me to boot from the
CD... I can explain why not but let's just assume that isn't an
option) I get the error "Can't load ntkrnlmp.exe error code 7" when
disk 2 loads.

1) No it isn't a problem with disk 2
2) Microsoft help topic says that I have faulty RAM or BIOS settings

I think microsoft is close but not quite right. I don't have faulty
RAM. I checked and re-checked with memtest86. I have a feeling that
the floppy installation software doesn't like high speed DRAM. I've
tried slowing down the timing but it hasn't helped so far.

I'm at my wits end. Does anyone have a fix for this situation??
There are so many hits on Google for this problem but every link ends
without a solution.

So I come here to the real Gurus of the world.

TIA

My guess would be a BIOS setting that is enabling 'shadow ram' of some kind.

Wow! Now that is an original answer to my question!!! (I've been
posting all over the web) You had me all excited there Mark!
However, I didn't see any shadowing going on in the BIOS settings.
Great guess though!!! I did notice that the C000, 32K video BIOS was
set to "cached". Do you think that might be a problem?
