General chat & a way to contact other forum members, a bit like Instant Messenger?
It was just an idea & set down rules led by Ian & mods?

So far it looks like there are only a few members interested in this, so I don't think there would be momentum to keep something like this active. I'm more than happy to have a chat thread or something similar in the general discussion forum - and then if it takes off we could add a shoutbox page?

Would be interested in an Off Topic sticky thread though as have strayed that way a lot in other people's threads, usually with the sort of casual chat that isn't really worth starting a new thread for but isn't really polite to hijack someone else's thread for either
