Any one had a problem with the mouse disconnecting and stopping
and then then re-connecting a few moments later

Thanks
Dan

You mean to say that your input given by the mouse produces no effect on the
system for some time, after which it responds to your input again? In that
case,is the keyboard's input accepted during the time when the mouse becomes
almost useless?
I guess there is an IRQ conflict here.

I would be testing it in another system to reproduce the error, or not. I
would suspect a Power Management setting in the mouse device Properties in
Device Manager.

You need to tell us the type of mouse. PS/2, usb, wireless? Age? Help us
out.

Is it disconnecting, or is the CPU usage so high that it can't handle mouse
movements momentarily?

Daniel,
Type of mouse?

If USB and connected to USB hub, get a hub that doesn't use your computer/laptop as a power source.
