Personally I would only specialise in one software. It is possible to have
conflicts with having several burning software on a PC.

If its, for example, Nero, delete/uninstall Roxio and disable IMAPI CD
Burning ROM Com Service (the WMP option to burn CD's/DVD's) in Services.

Did that work ?

Cheers,
Jerry

PS : Right click on My Computer > Manage > Services & Applications >
Services > IMAPI etc to disable WMP Burning.

theplectrum thanks for your effort to reply to this,i diddnt explain very
clearly so i do appolagise and i will explain again ,sorry if im not to
technical. i only have one dvd burning software running i have tried using
roxio which was coppying fine about a year later i got nero 6 so i
un-installed roxio .again this worked fine . i have had a new dvd drive
installed and that has been working fine for about one and a half years,
then i started to get the error messages, i then went back to using roxio to
see if that would help but i still get these messages.i was told it could
possibly be a loose connection in the mother board ,but as you have guest
im a bit simple with computers ,so i wont be touching it,is that a
possability or should i try another software, thanks again for your time and
effort

What exactly do you receive as error messages ?

Try right Clicking on My Computer > Properties > Harware > Device Manager >
DVD/CD-Rom Drives > is there a yellow triangle there ? If so, and if not,
click on the + sign, the right click on the name of your DVD drive/recorder
Uninstall > Re-boot > let XP re-install it.

Did that work ?

For loose connections, open up the bonnet, make sure the cable to your DVD
drive or CD-Rom drive is well and truely "plugged in". Its not difficult,
but do it when the PC is switched off. Then re-boot - any difference ?

Cheers,
Jerry

for that, but now my players wont play the music on the disc(dvd), i can play
an origanal copy of music with something like 40 albums on it copy it and
that is fine ,but now my players will not play the new copied disc(dvd),in
windows it says unreconised format but windows played the origanal disc . it
gives me a message somthing about codec not supported followed by links for
information on the internet but i got well confused it didnt seem to explain
