disabling print icon from appearing

I work in a public library. We use a computer access mgmt product that
schedules users for the use of the computers. This account is locked down
using group policy. This accounts default printer is a B&W printer. When
they submit a print job, a popup window appears thru the computer access mgmt
software that allows the user to give this print job a name and a password.
At the same time, a printer icon appears in the system tray on the task bar.
This icon allows users to look at the properties of the printer and also
gives them the ability to change the default printer. This is done with a
right click. The right click option under normal circumstances has been
disabled. Is there any way this print icon can be disabled from popping up?

Start, Control Panel, Taskbar, Customize. Look for the Printer Icon.
Change from "Hide when inactive" to "Always hide"

This can also be configured using group policy.
