disabling norton antivirus startup

Every time I turn on my computer, the Norton Antivirus startup screen comes up asking if I want to sign up. How do I stop this startup from appearing without totalling deleting the Norton Antivirus program

Which version of NAV do you have? The new version of NAV (2004)
requires that you activate the product within a certain amount of time
or it will cease to function. Is it asking for you to activate or
register?
