Hi Folks,
I am running Windows XP home.
I have Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger 6.0.
Windows Messenger keeps accessing the Internet every few minutes even though
I have not actually started the program.
I want to stop it doing that. I only want to have it operate (even in the
background) when I choose to.
I saw somewhere in a news group to disable it you do the following:
Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools - (I can not find that),
services, messenger, right click messenger, select properties, under start
up select disable, click ok and follow prompts.
I can not get to Administritive tools although I am the administrator.
I find when the computer is online and the messenger is accessing the
Internet (I do not what for) my processor is busy and my cursor jumps to
another place while I am typing.
Any tips are appreciated.
Please reply to the newsgroup as my identity is faked to avoid spam and the
swen virus ( I learned my lesson).
Thanks a lot, a whole lot.
Chris
