Our file system has some folders that get frequent file
updates (add/change/deletes) from background processes
(services).
On this machine, the automatic folder update being done
by explorer is both a performance degradation and hard to
work with.
Can this feature be disabled?
Some websites say to toggle registry setting
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update\UpdateMode,
but this appears to be old information and no longer
used.
