Guest

I realized that I was missing directx files, so i downloaded the recent version from microsoft.com. But when I looked on dxdiag after installing directx 9.0b, I was still missing the files. The files were:
Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3d.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3dX.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.DirectInput.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.DirectPlay.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.Diagnostics.dll
Microsoft.DirectX.dll

Can someone suggest a solution. I dont want to reinstall windows xp because I dont want to have to back up all my files.

Hi Jcaloo,

I don't have those files either, and all games work perfectly.
What problems are you having that makes you concerned?

There's a game that faults when the audio is played. If
you are not experiencing any problems without those files
then its a possibility that I need to download a new
driver for my soundcard. thanks

I agree Jcaloo, that's a more likely scenario. Good luck! :)
