I need help upgrading DirectX9.0b to 9.0c. I have tried installing 9c using
the webinstaller and by downloading the full installation program. Everytime
I try to instrall it the installer says I have completed the installation
properly and all components are ready for use etc. but Dxdiag is still
telling me that I am running 9.0b.

When I click on the DirectX Files tab in Dxdiag it is telling me that the
file d3dim.dll is an old version and I should reinstall DirectX to get the
latest version. I dont know if this has something to do with the problem or
not.

Hi Dan,

Repair Windows and then you'll be able to install DirectX 9.0c

How to repair Windows XP:
Unplug from your Internet connection, and then repair Windows:
using this method: http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Afterwards, boot up your system, turn on your XP Internet Firewall,
plug back into your Internet connection and install all Critical and
Recommended updates from: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Note: Please install DirectX 9.0c before installing Service Pack 2.
