DIRECTX 9.0 A VS. DIRECTX 9.0 B

I HAVE DIRECTX 9.0 A INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER ALREADY,
DO I NEED TO INSTALL DIRECTX 9.0 B ?
IS THIS AN UPDATE TO 9.0 A, OR IS IT A NEWER VERSION THAT
HAS TO BE DOWNLOADED?
I AM CONFUSED AS TO WHETHER I SHOULD DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION
ANY GUIDANCE WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED. I AM RUNNING WIN
XP PRO, ALONG WITH ATI RADEON 9700 PRO. MY COMPUTER IS A
GATEWAY 700XL 3.06

You should install DirectX 9.0b immediately as it fixes a security bug that
existed in earlier versions of DirectX.

....But only, if you don't have a PAL - TV-Tuner-card...
....this will not work anymore with DX9.0b

-> With a tuner it seems to be recommended to only install the patch from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=22f990cb-e9f9-4670-
8b4f-ac4f6f66c3a2&DisplayLang=en
