Direct X 9

I've just fitted a graphics cards that is Direct X 9
compatible and would like to upgrade. The latest version
on the Microsoft download site is 9.0b. Will this upgrade
me from Direct X 8.1, or do I need to download earlier
versions of Direct X 9 first? If so, where can I find them?
 
If you download DX9; you 1st get a small installation
program which will 1st see what files need updating, and
then it will download & install them!
