Direct IP Printing

I heard/understand that there could be problems
using "Direct IP" printing among a printer queue
community. That is, i have all of my printers at work, set
up on a printer server. If someone decided not to use the
associated print queue and instead uses the static ip of
the printer he could potentially plow his print job to
ahead of anything presently in the queue. To the point of
possibly of disrupting or stopping the queue. Is this
true? Does anyone know it is possible? Is there any white
paper out there regarding this ? Or other sources of
information? Thank you!

Hw/she will get priority but you are unlikely to suffer any other problems.
Virtually all printers are happy receiving jobs from multiple sources.

Yes this is true - telnet to the printer's ip and allow
only the print server's ip. This keeps people from
printing directly to printers via IP.
