Digital Camera

My system is suddenly not recognizing my Olympus Digital Camedia C5060 Wide
Zoom when I turn it on. It was working fine before I updated to XP Service
Pack 2. Now my camera is showing up in the removable disk section instead of
cameras and when I turn it on I hear the ding that says I have turned it on
in the computer but it does not automatically start the picture viewed so I
can put the pictures on my disk. I find the camera in my Adobe and Camedia
picture software, but I want the camera in the right place so the MS software
will launch. Any ideas or help would be so appreciated.

the computer is not autop starting the wizard when you reconnect the camera.
right click on the camera in the explorer and set it to autorun the wizard
for the camera.

Thank you for your reply(s), what I did to resolve my problem was to
uninstall Realplayer 10 and the autorun is working.

Is there any way to retain both realplayer10 and a camera? (I have rp10
and kodak camera with the same or similar problem!) - RM

Since I have uninstalled RP 10, I don't know the answer to that but have you
uninstalled RP 10 yet? If not try this: Go to my computer, make sure your
camera is plugged in, right click on your removable device (mine is "K") and
click on autorun. When I did that it brought up the screen that you can't get
when you plug in your camera, and then you can choose what program you want
to open your pictures.

I'm not sure why my camera is no longer in the camera and imaging folder, as
I can no longer get pictures from my camera when clicking on "get pictures
from camera". Must be XP updates.

Let me know if this works. Good luck.

You may need to re-install the Olympus software as it is possible that the
SP2 may have removed the registry settings for it. There should be a program
within the Camedia software which specifically launches the viewer when
camera plugged in and switched on. Mine comes up in My Computer in Explorer
as another hard drive with a sequential letter, so make sure that you have
another drive letter more selected than you normally use.

Cheers, Peter.
