Difference between Citrix and Remote Desktop

What are the differences between Citrix and the Remote
Desktop? Is there a white paper on this?

-I suppose the difference is the enduser's capabilities.

Remote Desktop allows an individual to access their
computer and their personal files (including public files
they have access to from their work station). Easy to set
up, easy to use. Cheap.

Citrix, however, is a network where many different users
can access different programs including drives. A Citrix
can be used with a browser or can be set up to look like
a Citrix. IT IS VERY COSTLY so personal use is generally
out of the question. My company has a Citrix Box $15K for
the box and $10K for additional end user licenses. Labor
intensive, Support issues are a big concern for us (IT
dept is unwilling to learn latest and greatest thus here
I am!).

As for a whitepaper? Don't ask me, I am a lawyer. I was
just passing thru the knowledge base and could answer
your question. Hope it helps!

Though it hasn't been updated with new RDP 5.1 and 5.2 features, the
following site describes in general the features:
