Dial-up sharing broadband internet connection

I use Windows 2000 Professional on both a desktop and laptop computer. I
have ADSL internet on my desktop computer. I can connect my laptop to
the desktop with a NIC and enable internet connection sharing. This
allows me to mount drives as well as browse the internet using the same
connection. This is perfect when I'm at home.

I also have a normal modems on the desktop and laptop. I have it
configured so that when I am away from home I can dial in to my home
computer. This works and I can connect and mount drives, but I can not
access the internet.

I played with internet connection sharing but I think this only works on
a LAN, not over a dial-up connection. I found some references to dial-up
server but that is for Windows 95-98 and I'm not sure it would do what I
want anyway.

So my question is, how can I enable the sharing of my ADSL connection
over a dial-up connection?

Hello

I think it is possible to access internet thru dialup and then ICS. What
you should check is the IP address of your laptop computer, and then make
sure the gateway address is the ICS IP.
