Dial-Up Problem

Recently I've been gettin an annoying problem with
dialup. I have used dialup in my house for years and it
has always been running smoothly, except an
occasional "freeze-up", where im not getting any bytes
received, only sending out a ton. Well recently, this
problem seems to have escalated tremendously. I use 2
ISP's and I seem to be gettin the same problem on both of
em, so the ISP's do not seem to be the cause. I
constantly keep getting that "freeze-up" where I am not
receiving any bytes for about a minute or so and internet
explorer and nothin else that uses a connection works. It
is a major nuisance as I play online games often and I
often go linkdead because of these strange "freeze-ups"
of my dial-up connection. Does anyone know a way to fix
this problem? Please reply or email thx.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.
