Dial Up Networking Wizard Problems

In XP Pro, I re-installed the OS and now, when I try to re-
establish my Dial Up connections (it blew away the ones I
had) the wizard will let me go all the way thru to the
point of naming the connection (the ISP name, etc.) and it
will not recognize anything I type for the name. The
error message is something like: ""PSCI" is not a valid
name. Your name must be something other than a space and
not begin with a period". What can I do to make the
wizard recognize a name and establish a connection?
