I am trying to help a client (over the phone) get a dial-up connection to the
Internet established. I have them go to the Internet Connection Wizard,
select to "Connect to the Internet"; then to "Set up my connection manually";
but on the next screen, "Connect using dial-up modem" is greyed out.
What controls whether this option can be used. I have had them check to see
that the modem is installed, and using the "Query Modem" button on the
diagnostic tab, it appears to be working fine.
So why is it not allowing a dial-up connection to the Internet to be
established. I had them turn off the Firewall (even though I didn't think it
would make a difference. There are no 3rd party security agents running
other than Panda WebAdmin. They previously had a DSL connection which worked
just fine but have moved to a location where it is not available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
