Dial up connects by itself

I leave my computer powered up.
Sometimes it automatically connects to my dial up ISP.
How can I make this stop? I have Win XP.

Try downloading and running ad-aware www.lavasoftusa.com
Be sure to update it as well. You probably have some type of spyware on your
system that wants to connect to the internet.
