dial up connection password not working

G

I have recently upgraded from Win 98SE to XP and when
configuring my dial up connection (don't have high speed
where I live), whenever I save the password and then go
to dial up it comes up with a password that is twice as
long as my original password.

So everytime I have to use my internet connection I have
to retype my password.

Any solution to this?????
Thanx.

You are incorrect. The password is being saved however XP adds a few
characters to provide more security.

No solution is necessary. Your password is being saved correctly.
However when WIndows displays it as a series of dots, it displays
the full number of dots it can. It does this so that anyone
looking over your shoulder doesn't have a headstart on guessing
your password by knowing how long it is.

This is normal operation, nothing is wrong. By default, XP shows 16 digits
(*). All is well.
