Hi everyone ^_^
Now, I may as well get straight to the point - my dial-up connection is usually working totally fine, but in the last couple of days the computer has been doing some really weird things, including:
- after downloading new mail into Outlook Express, the connection just decides to drop out for no apparent reason
- sometimes when I've been on the internet, I'll get something that's like a pop-up ad, but it turns into just a block of color (last night it was fluoro green, the day before it was transparent), like something is trying to load a picture but it won't load
- after I finish up on the internet, a pop-up box appears with something like "Do you wish to run and install the program Macromedia..." something or other (I forgot the rest of the name, ^^), and I click no to get rid of it, but then the next time I use the net it happens again
- the computer starts acting unusually slow when I open 3 or more applications. I ran the disk cleanup utility, and CHKDSK the next time on restart, but it's still acting weird.
Hopefully I don't have a virus, but if anyone has some ideas or advice about what may be happening to my computer, that'd be most appreciated ^_^
Cheers & Thanks,
Genevieve
