DHCP reservation error

Hi all
I have strange problem with the DHCP server. When I try to add a reservation
it says that "An error occuered while accessing the DHCP database. Look at
the DHCP server event log for more information on this error".
How can I further troubleshoot this problem. I am running windows 2000 with
all the service packs and patches updated.

Check the Event Viewer on the DHCP server and look for events that pretain to
this error.

I did and there is nothing in the event log that pertains to this error.
Cannot troubleshoot it.
Any ideas
