DHCP fails after virus

Anyone have any ideas?

DHCP had failed for me on a Win XP Pro box ever since I ran a virus scan. I
have checked the media, cabling, done loopback pings, rebuilt the IP stack,
and it all seems to work except for DHCP. I go to "repair" connections in
the GUI and it says that it fails at renew. If I do it at the command line
it tell me, on renew, that it can't find the specific file.

If ANYONE has any ideas I am open to listening.

P.S. - I can statically assign an address and get out. Grrr...

Interesting! I think I have the exact same problem. DHCP used to work, now
it doesn't. You can search my previous posts for that exact topic. For me,
DHCP has been on and off within the same 48 hours. My client times out
because it cannot acquire an IP address from the host (running ICS).

Do you suspect that it is virus related? Thanks for any info!
