won't read them..... when I go to my computer and double
click the drive it dosen't read the disk that is in the
drive, what might be the problem for this?

I don't know.
Have you done basic troubleshooting?
Look for any unusual status in the device manger?
Check for messages in the event viewer?
Look at the info in msinfo32?
etc,etc???

The error message that I get when I click on the drive
from my computer is - A:\ is not accessible. Incorrect
function.
As an example when I insert my xp disk into the cd-rw
drive and double click while in my computer it dosent
read any contents. Yet when I insert a cdrw disk of my
own it will read the contents

..

Try inserting the XP CD into the CD-ROM drive, instead of the CD-RW drive.
What happens then?

Also, did these drives ever work in the past? Do you have current,
XP-compatible drivers installed for each?
