Device driver corrupt or missing

Device driver for the ONLY cd/dvd drive I have is missing
or corrupt due to a error made a month ago. Can't do sys.
restore because date doesn't go back that far; can't load
driver using cd because drive is not recognized. What can
I do? There's no backup files on a floppy so I have a BIG
problem. Any suggestions? Thanks

From my own experience, have you done a thorough search in all your files?
Hidden files? i386 file? Any driver.cab files, Driver Cache file, dllcache
file, Last Good file, or maybe MS update backups? I have found a lot of
potential resources for needed files or devices within all those files,
depending on what it is. Or maybe the Recycler File?
