Device CDrom0 has a bad block??

Serena

After having some burning problems in MediaPlayer and HP
Record Now (MyCD), I did some checking into system
management and found the following error message in
System Events viewer - Device CDrom0 has a bad block.
Could someone please tell me what this means? Any help
is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Could be several things :

* badly recorded CD-R or CD-RW - run a lens cleaner in your burner

* wash the CD's you get the error on - possible dirt or grease traces on
them

* your burner is recognised in PIO mode and not in DMA mode. Delete the
IDE your burner is on in the Device Manager and let Windows re- recognise
it. Make sure DMA access is turned on in the BIOS.

* your burner is getting ready to go up to the big burner in the sky
........

Hope you 'cure' it !

Cheres,
Jerry
