I am new to XP. I have two users on my system and
thought that I could configure each desktop sepeartly.
When I delete an Icon from one desktop it goes away on
both desktop. Is this suppose to happen.

Hi Fred,

You can still configure each seperately.

The desktop icons (excluding the special icons) are built from the shortcuts/files from these two locations:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop - Common to all profiles
&
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Desktop - Private
Anything added/deleted in the latter, current profile is alone affected.
