Garbage left on desktop

J

jw

I've been noticing the past few days that when I return to my desktop
screen from running applications, that a small portion of the
application's window is left behind on the desktop screen, and it
stays there forever.

It is some disconcerting because the garbage often masks out some
desktop icons.

In fact as I type this post, I am looking at one of the garbage
segments right where I am trying to type.

What do you suppose is causing this now?

One thing after another it seems.

Thanks

Duke

In the first instance, establish the exact make and model of your video card
then download and install the latest drivers for it from the manufacturer's
website.

Well I subscribe to Driverguide.com and always get uptodate drivers,
or so I think I am. I'll have to check.

That would only be useful if you paid driveguide a lot of money and knew
without any doubt that they are spending it doing constant research and
testing on the best drivers for your system, and were in close contact with
all hardware and software manufacturers and vendors.

But here's a hint: You probably don't, and they aren't. Get the drivers
from the hardware manufacturers, who actually ARE spending money doing
constant research and testng.

Driverguide is helpful sometimes, when you just cannot find a driver for an
obsolete and orphaned piece of hardware.
