Save Desktop Icon Positions

My desktop Icons are spread in various customised groupings across the screen.
This layout is "saved" in mytheme.theme.
Sometimes (I don't know why) my desktop icon layout becomes re-arranged in
neat columns & rows at the left side of the screen.
If I double click my .theme file and click Apply, my customised groupings
are not recovered.
Should executing the .theme file recover the positions, or am I missing
something?

If you google you will find a number of utilities for saving Icon layout,
thats what I use

Try right clicking the desktop, arrange icons, by grid.
