Being a new user to xp from 98 I have noticed dramatic
changes to desktop layout. One thing concerning me is
windowa explorer, Does it open the same way as in 98 with
the hierachy or in my case in documents. I find this a
bit strange as all the other programs open in their own
folder.
 
My eXPerience is that if you click on the Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Windows Explorer shortcut, it is rooted in My Documents. The same goes for the
Quicklaunch Windows Explorer shortcut.

If you press the WinKey and E, it's rooted in "My Computer". Same with Start >
All Programs > right-click My Computer and select Explore.
