Vista - I can't put my network connections icons on the desktop. I'm going
to Start - Connect To, but there is no desktop option on the right-click, and
no dragging facility. Is there another way to do it?

Thanks

putting a connection icon on the desktop is unnecessary, because you already
have the icon near the clock: click on it.
Anyway, to put an useless icon on your Desktop:
Choose Control Panel from the Start menu.
Choose the Network and Internet category, and select Network and Sharing
Center.
Select Manage Network Connections from the pane on the window's left side.
(Clicking that option reveals all your network connections, including your
dial-up Internet connection.)
Right-click your dial-up Internet icon and choose Create Shortcut from the
pop-up menu.
Click OK to allow the shortcut to be automatically placed on the Desktop.

Thanks - that's done the trick. The reason I want the icons on my desktop is
that I can go straight to the one I want - one click instead of 3. Must be
getting lazy in my old age!

Why not put them in the Quick Launch toolbar? They launch with one click and
you don't have to see your desktop to get to them.
