Desktop Theme Disappears

My desktop has suddenly become all white after years of correct display.
Program icons show but no theme picture or background color. Also appears
white in Properties under theme. Color swatch is correct and theme name
highlighted, but color does not show in dialog box "computer screen." If I
reenter color and theme and "Apply" the theme box shows correct and the
desktop tries to comply, flashes the color, but immediately goes to white.
Sometimes the correct color and picture show up on login and/or logoff so
apparently My Favorite Theme file is okay. Windows XP Home SP2.

Hi Alabrright,
Go to the Event viewer and look for any Video card or any application Errors
and write back here with what you seen,may be your Video Card Drive going bad
or Corrupt,and do full Scan for Ad-ware/spyware or grayware.

Thanks a bunch. I finally found the answer after hours of trying. In the IE
program menu, Tools/Internet Options/General/Accessibility the "Ignore colors
specified on Web page" box had been checked. Soon as I unchecked it, the
problem disappeared. Why this should have happened on my desktop -- even when
disconnected from the Internet and IE is beyond me -- but that's where the
problem was, for anyone else plagued with the same. Appreciate the effort,
Nass. We gotta help each other -- so much is not intuitive!
